This is the perfect weekend to check out my band

by Rick Wheat

What’s up, man? I know you’re into good music.

You should totally come check my band out this weekend. It would be a perfect show for your first look at us, too. We’re going to be playing a lot of our classic stuff, but we’re going to put in brand new songs that have a really forward sound.

I mean, we’ve always pushed the edge of the folk/funk genre, but this new stuff will change the way people fundamentally feel the music. I think it will be a whole euphoric, high energy, serene, kind of wonderful thing. You know?

Oh, I’ll even let them know at the door to let you in. I think it’s like a three dollar cover, but don’t worry about it, dude. Make sure you’re there by eight, though. We’re going to lead everyone in this tranquil yoga exercise that will boost the musical experience.

This is definitely going to be a night you’ll never forget. And afterwards we’re all going to do this improv harmonica poetry jam. You have to stick around for that.

OK, dude, I’ll see you there. Just mention my name at the door.
