June 26, 2008 | Issue 5-20

TORONTO – A suspect has been identified in the January shooting of a juvenile movie. Michael John Myers, 45, is being sought in connection with the shooting of The Love Guru that took place in Toronto several months ago.

While authorities believe there are others responsible in the shooting who physically pointed the cameras and carried out the massacre, Myers is believed to be the mastermind behind the atrocious effort that left one movie dead and dozens of innocent moviegoers severely injured.

The events that led up to the shooting are not confirmed at this time, but authorities say they believe Myers secured the funding and location to carry out the crime.

Investigators say they believe the shooting occurred at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto but the crime may have started near the famous Toronto castle, Casa Loma.

Witnesses told police that a man in his mid-40’s, believed to be Myers, was at the scene of the shooting, and investigators believe he either coordinated or directly participated in the cinematic bloodbath, according to the Toronto sheriff's office.

Myers has also been linked to the horrific 2003 shooting of The Cat in the Hat and was seen on the set of Shrek the Third moments before the tragic assassination of comedy in 2007. No charges were filed in those incidents.

Myers, who is still at large and believed to be seeking refuge in the Hollywood area, is described as dangerous if near a camera, and residents are urged not to approach the suspect.
