Patriots not looking past whomever they're going to beat this week

BOSTON—The team from Foxborough is favored to win the Super Bowl, but members of the New England Patriots say they refuse to look past whatever AFC team they are scheduled to beat this Saturday at Gillette Stadium.

“No matter who it is we are slated to beat Saturday, we’re certainly not going to take the Colts, Jaguars or Chargers for granted,” said Brady, who guesses it would be exciting to win the Super Bowl a fourth time. “Certainly, winning it all would be okay, but we’re not looking that far ahead. We just have to take it one effortless victory at a time.”

Running back Laurence Maroney also hinted he will take the Colts, Jaguars or Chargers seriously, adding he thought that was what he was supposed to say to the media.

Coach Bill Belichick appeared angry when reporters questioned him about a potential victory over some team from the NFC in the Super Bowl. “The Super Bowl,” exclaimed Belichick. “I’m certainly not planning my Super Bowl victory banquet just yet. I still haven’t decided between the lobster and steak for this week’s celebratory dinner.”

Randy Moss, Patriots wide receiver, fielded questions about making it to the Super Bowl. “Obviously, this is the NFL and anything can happen. We can’t look past our opponents,” said Moss, while fighting back laugher. “We wouldn’t want to give whoever those guys are that we’re going to beat any bulletin board material.”
