Area man has no idea when last SportsCenter ended and new SportsCenter began

December 13, 2007 | Issue 4-50

RALEIGH, N.C. — After watching nearly 90 minutes of ESPN’s SportsCenter, area resident Brad Flowers is certain he has seen the currently airing highlights previously but is unable to determine exactly when the last SportsCenter ended and the new one began.

“I went to the bathroom once. It could have been then,” said Flowers, who guesses he should probably see what else is on. “I don’t remember seeing the ‘Did You Know’ segment, but do they even still do that?”

While Flowers figures there is probably some World Poker Tour on right now, the 22-year-old student realizes the remote control is all the way over there on the end table. He added that he would almost just like to keep watching SportsCenter to figure out when it ended the last time.

“Plus, that feature they did where those guys argue about the Patriots being the best team ever or not was pretty good,” added the ESPN enthusiast. “I wonder if I missed a follow up on those dogs they seized from Michael Vick’s property when I went to the bathroom.

“The first [SportsCenter] might have ended after that story about Duke winning the NCAA tournament in an EA Sports NCAA March Madness ’08 simulation of the entire college basketball season and tournament. But was that actually part of the show or an ad?”
